INTRODUCTORY INTENSIVE COURSE
All the main concepts are explained and illustrated through the tasting of 21 different wines.

5 to 6 p.m. A short history of the Catalan vineyard and the wines: the last 150 years that configured the present state of the art. Soils and climate. The viticulture and more frequent elaborations. Tasting of 6 wines: a Malvasia de Sitges, a Pansa Blanca from Alella, a white Grenache from Terra Alta, a Trepat from Conca de Barberà, a Sumoll from Pla de Bages, and a classic blend of Grenache and Carignan from Priorat.
6 to 7 p.m. The sparkling wines of Catalonia. Viticulture and elaborations. Cavas, Classic Penedès, “Paratge Qualificat” cavas, CORPINNAT new proposal, and the new fashion of “old” Ancestrals .Tasting of 5 different wines to illustrate the contents
7 to 8 p.m. The white wines of Catalonia. Main varieties (autochthonous versus globalized) and their elaborations. A couple of Xarel·los, a Macabeu, and a couple of white Grenaches. Tasting of 5 different wines to illustrate the contents
8 to 9 p.m. The red wines of Catalonia. Main varieties (autochthonous and globalized varieties) and their elaborations. a Trepat, a Sumoll, a red Grenache, a Carignan, and a Cabernet Sauvignon Tasting of 5 different wines to illustrate the contents
