All the contents through the tasting of 40 wines, with 2 additional Master Classes, a lunch break.

SATURDAY, September 15th.
10 to 12 a.m. A short history of the Catalan vineyard and wines: the last 150 years that configured the present state of the art. Soils and climate. The viticulture and frequent elaborations.
Tasting of 10 wines to illustrate the contents: a malvasia de Sitges, a pansa blanca from Alella, a single old vineyard wine from Empordà, a white grenache from Terra Alta, a trepat from Conca de Barberà, a Cava from Penedès, a merlot rosé also form Penedès, a red grenache, a red carignan, and a classic blend from Priorat.12:30 to 1:30 p.m. The white wines of Catalonia. Main varieties (autochthonous versus globalized) and their elaborations. Xarel·lo, Macabeu, Grenache, White Carignan and Chardonnay.
Tasting of 5 different wines to illustrate the contents1:30 to 2:30 p.m. The sparkling wines of Catalonia. Viticulture and elaborations. Cavas, Classic Penedès, “Paratge Qualificat” cavas, the CORPINNAT new proposal, and the new old Ancestrals.

Old men of the region said that a good wine could never be done with such variety. Were they right or wrong? Tasting of 5 wines7 to 8 p.m. New Trends. New elaborations: rape, cement, new blends and other aging technics. The emergence of biodynamic and “natural” wines.

8 to 9 p.m. Ruben Parera’s Master Class … Why do I make biodynamic viticulture and natural wines? Ruben is a grower and winemaker in Penedès, co-owner with his family of Finca Parera.
